Find out importance of Human Choline acetyltransferase(ChAT) in human neurological system

While going through the general functions of the body, it is important to note that enzymes as a whole work for bettering the digestive conditions of the body. However, there are certain enzymes that act in regards to specific functional groups. The Human Choline acetyltransferase is one of those specific transferase enzymes that are useful for synthesis of acetylcholine that is one of the most important neurotransmitters of the body. This enzyme is specifically found in neurons and other parts of central nervous system as well as peripheral nervous system. Most importantly, this has an important role in nerve terminal that is produced within neuron body, and encoded specifically within the CHAT gene.

Structure and function associated with Human Choline acetyltransferase:

Found in the human nervous system, as per X rays, this has crystalline structure, and has a strong hydrogen bond that helps in binding of these crystals. Found in both soluble and membrane bound format, this also has presence in the synaptic vesicle. They are to be found in a number of neurological functions, and a change in its basic structure may have chances of Alzheimer’s disease. His protein encoded gene also has an enzyme that catalysing biosynthesis that is associated with acetylcholine neurotransmitter’s. Since, test reports show its role in the cognitive impairment that is associated with Alzheimer’s , hence, it can be seen that certain medicines associated with this disease, has its base medication in this enzyme itself.
